Man I was in a parking lot in the 89 quake, I saw the asphalt ripple with waves and a sports car near me actually hopped. I thought I was hallucinating! We have a strike slip fault so we often get a short burst and small aftershocks, Nepal has a different and more deadly, longer type of quake fault. You pretty much grow up a seismic scientist here as a kid, we learn about it all in school.

No big deal, building are up to code now and new ones are very well designed. I was in a theater when a small one happened, my friend was from MN, they freaked and I just said its a small one and it will be over in a second.

Seems like activity is ramping up everywhere, volcanoes in various places have erupted as well last month. Nothing here that I can feel.
